Abdi Abdirahman - Trials and Miles

Abdi Abdirahman is one of the most charismatic runners in the country, he also happens to be one of the most talented and fastest athletes in the U.S. He is a three-time USATF champion in the 10k, two-time Olympian in that event as well, and also boosts a marathon personal best of 2:08:56. Abdi started out at Pima Community College in Tucson by showing up to practice in boots to try out for the team. He earned a scholarship to the University of Arizona where he had a stellar career highlighted by a runner-up finish at the 1998 NCAA Cross-Country Championships. Abdi now trades time between Tucson and Flagstaff training full-time. Interview by Kevin Ullman
